In response to many customer inquiries, we've sourced organic canary seed for your parakeets, finches and canaries. We deal exclusively with a certified organic farm in the Canadian prairies.

Organic canary seed is ideal for adding to your own bird seed mixes. Mixing your own seed allows complete control over the ratio of ingredients. Most commercially processed small bird seed blends are too high in canary seed; often as much as 50% canary seed. We suggest using a ratio with far less canary seed: ie: 25%. For finches, we suggest using 10% canary seed in your mix.

Providing antioxidants and protein levels that are similar to quinoa, canary seed may be fed as a portion of a good base diet for canaries, parakeets and finches.

May be stored in a freezer indefinately.
